Building Projects: K’nex

K’nex building kits came out a few decades ago, which means there are K’nex sets for the taking in people’s attics in your community. This makes them an easy add to your makerspace.

  1. Ask for K’nex donations in your next email communication, or post a sign outside your makerspace with a box.
  2. Designate a table for K’nex in your makerspace.
  3. Set students loose to create contraptions, creatures, coasters, and more.
  4. To get them started, they can download plans online or view photos of the creative things that other builders have made.
