Origami Jewelry Motifs
by Julian Laboy Rodriguez
Simple diagrams for classic origami – samurai hats, cranes, stars, as well as Christmas trees, butterflies, and brontosauruses. The origami is created with tiny paper (2″-3″), coated, and then added to jewelry (earring posts, necklaces, bracelet charms, and more).
A great way to stretch your nice origami paper (cut it into fourths), and a way for students to refine their fine motor skills. Ask for discarded jewelry donations, and students can wear their creations for others to admire.
